Default Let's talk about something juicy.....Why does everyone love bashing APR??

I think they make a good product for what they advertise. Of course, they have always been the most conservative of all the tuners with their mentality of making our cars everyday drivable.

I know that GIAC and REVO puts out stronger chips, but why the negativity? The only thing I think that was controversal on APR's part was Alipor's dyno back a year ago. But do think that A4NCAR also showed that other tuners don't put out the HP claims either....(well, for the B6 A4s at least).

Dont' get me wrong. I love REVO chipped cars a lot (ridden in a couple) and I have ridden in GIAC chipped B5 S4s and Neuspeed chipped cars, and I am also thinking of going REVO when I upgrade to the GT28RS turbo. But all this negativity I think is a bandwagon thing.....

Let the flames begin....

Default I'm not sure what the fuss is about. I went APR because of the great reviews on this forum...

That was a year and half ago. Since then APR seems to have fallen out of favour (for whatever reason) and become the chip of last choice. I think this says less about APR and more about people on this board.

Default Agreed. APR had some bad press bc of the Revo conflict

And other customer service related issues. I had an APR chip on my B5, and loved it. No problems at all, great service, etc. That's why I got another one. Everyone has their loyalties, and every chip manufacturer has had some issues.

Default Totally agree... I hear all the time about B5 guys who've had the Stage 3...

On their cars for like 50K+ no issues. I think the B6 Stage 3 will be an incredible kit. NO doubt that their hardware is the best out there, I can't wait for my Stage 3.

Default Oh, goodie! Multiple choice. I'll pick "were". Where's the B6 kit?

Sorry, I forgot. Two weeks?

Once upon a time Lotus 1-2-3 was the dominant spreadsheet software. Excel sucked. Who uses Lotus anymore? They drove the creative talent out of the company - took them for granted. Guess where they went to work (starts with an M)? Excel is now dominant. You lose a few key people in a company and there goes your edge. I don't think it's any coincidence that Revo now has the edge APR fans used to take for granted.
