On your A3 or A4 (can't be sure by the photo) all the fuses I believe are at the far left side of your dashboard. Open the driver's side door and the left side of the dash has a panel which can be carefully removed with a screw driver; snaps in and out.
There you will find more fuses than your local auto parts store has.

Confused. If the light is on, your fuse is fine. What light is it? The Red Pressure or Yellow Level light?

It is the yellow oil can sensor light. I read somwhere that you should check the fuse whicjh I now have and is fine. The hood release micro switch is also functioning correctly so that rules that out and the oil level is good and has not dropped so tells me that I need a new oil sensor which I plan todo in the drier days along with an oil change of course.

Sounds like you are on the right track and maybe I don't understand the mechanization of the light. Maybe open turns the light on...

Open circuit will turn the sensor (not the low oil) warning light on. For example, when a rodent chewed off the wires to my sensor the light came on.

I believe OG2 is saying that an open circuit (fuse or short) would turn on the Red Warning Light, not the Yellow Level Light which I understand you have. I believe you just need to go after the sensor on the bottom of the oil pan.
