Default Id say go for the Avant, every option but nav and do your best to find

and ultrasport, my one regret when I bought my car was that they package wasnt available yet. I trust you will love it as much as Ive loved my sedan.

Default he's got "frickin laser beams"

beautiful dag, good luck with him!

I'm looking to get an avant in the coming months so I can fit a dog in it. I'm looking for a 2004-5 A4 1.8 manual (very hard to find) and if you can find it an ultrasport is uber rare on top of that.

the 04-05's had a 6 speed and painted lowers (2004 1/2 on actully) but other than that for the most part those are the only MAJOR differences you'll see between the years.

Default hmm... aren't great danes enormous when full grown?

I'll be honest here... I love my 03 avant, and I would be helpless with my 70 lb. Husky if I had a sedan. However, I love having a clean interior, and hate having lots of dog hair in the car (oops, huskies shed a lot). The problem is, he's too big (and he's not THAT big) to fit comfortably in the trunk (well, he could technically, but he likes to be up near me). I'm not selling my car anytime soon, but down the line I will probably replace it with either an SUV like an Xterra or something a little sporty, or else a small or midsized pickup (but that might be extreme).

If you want to stick with Audi, have you considered the all-road or A6 avant, for a little more room?

Default right now..

he is 135 lbs( he looks small in the pic he about 3ft. tall.) and he rides in the back seat 1990 volvo 740 which is my daily driver. i have considered an allroad and an a6/s6 avant. is the rear area that much larger i haven"t compared the size of the rear areasof the cars in person. thanks for the advice

Default I'm not sure, I just know...

It's a bigger car in general. I'm sure there's a reasonable increase in size, and I would bet there's a reasonable decrease from a volvo wagon (for example) vs. an a4 wagon. The thing is, they sacrificed some seats-up trunk space in the avant for sleeker exterior design and style. Looks nice, but the rounded corners/edges detract from room.

That said, your dog would be fine if you put the back seats down... he could even sprawl out and be comfy. But if you were hoping to have an isolated get-dirty and clean-later trunk space, you might want to look elsewhere.
