in a dv! Don't really want to change the intake!? How do u guys feel about that? Just don't like the sound of it! FMIC crossed my mind!? Is there more without going ahead and changing the turbo?

Default Yes, yes, and yes!

If you're not worried about warranty issues and sacrificing some reliability, then a turbo kit is the way to go. There are a few kits out there. There's one in the works from Ecodetuning.com that should beat the Stage 3 APR kits for the B5ers...300+hp. Uses a GT28RS turbo. There are a few other kits that cost less and produce respectable power like the E05 kit and the K04 kit.

But until then, chip and DV is definitely a necessity. From all of the posts and research done, the stock intake does the job and the aftermarkets cold air intake kits have caused loss of power to some and small gains to others. I just us a K&N...use the oil sparingly as not to foul the MAF sensor. I have been using one for 30K miles without problems.
FMIC, yes. Also, there is a twin IC setup like the euro 190HP models...uses your stock IC and another one is added to the other side of the engine. Some FMICs out there are low quality and cause air pressure loss. The twin setup does not and the high quality FMICs do not.

Add a 50 shot of nitrous if you want to add a little kick...use sparingly

It's certainly cheaper and easier, esp. if you take a new bumper into account.
