Default lower grill

with the lower grill off, does it do any damage to the insides? like is there anything it is protecting? or like if it rains or snows, will anything be damaged if the grill is taken off?

Default Your radiator will be vulnerable...Why would you take it off? Considered something in place of it?

A black mesh grill insert, etc...
