Default It makes me laugh when everyone complains about the A4 being so HEAVY....

G35 Sedan - 3369 lbs
Audi A4 1.8T - 3406 lbs
G35 Coupe - 3435 lbs !!!!
BMW 325xi - 3461 lbs
BMW 330xi - 3483 lbs
Audi A4 3.0 - 3583 lbs

The number seem pretty comparable considering we have Quattro...

Default Maybe we just FEEL heavy because we're underpowered...

especially compared to those in that list, the closest is the 325xi which has more torque and HP. And people do complain that the 325xi is a dog off the line too...

Default If your sole criteria for a car is speed off the line, you bought the wrong car. That is not what..

Audi's aiming for with the A4.

And I don't consider my 3.0 under-powered.

hmmmm.......

A4 3.0
220 HP
221 lb/ft

BMW 330xi
225 HP
215 lb/ft

seems exactly the same to me...in fact, my A4 3.0 definitely feels peppier than my step dad's 330 xi

Default You are right comparitively, but.....

To anybody (like me) who has had a 1600lb 110hp GTI, a 1500lb 160hp CRX, a 2000lb 170hp MR2....

The Audi and the rest of those are PIGS!

If you ever had a light quick car, you would realize that no matter how much rubber or power, there is NO SUBSTITUTE for light weight!

That being said, I love my Audi, and although a little pokey, in the cool air of fall and after break in (just rolled 10kmiles) its fast enough...

Default Exactly right! Audis aren't about drag racing.

My 1.8T has all the power I need. I don't miss my 300 hp A6 4.2.

Default So the A4 4 cylinder is as heavy as all the 6 cylinder competitors

The A4 6 is heavier. And they are both as heavy or heavier than the much larger Infiniti?

Yes, it is a heavy car.

Yes, it is also relatively under-powered.
