Default Manual or Tiptronic.... which one gives you the extra edge in performance situations?

I opted for the manual... more sense of control.

Default Its not Tiptronic..

although it is fun to be able to exit tight corners immediatly in first, which is difficult with a manual. But under all other circumstances a manual is faster if you know what you are doing.

Default For instance, I avoided an accident thanks to Tip

I wouldn't have had the presence of mind to gear down to accelerate out of the problem area in as short a time...

...but I'm a crappy driver w/ manual tranny, because I don't drive one every day.

Default I love the CVT but there are those occassions where, I have to admit...

...you still have to slide it over and upshift or downshift manually. Like from launch. Or accelerating through a turn. Or those times where the CVT just won't respond with a performance driven downshift to punch up the torque.

The beauty is when I need auto - and that's most of the time - it's the best. No slush box; clutch plate driven. When I need manual for those special situations - it's there. And no smoking clutch to replace. Yahoo!
