Default metal particals

When I changed my lube oil at 85k I came across some metal shavings in the dip pan. I know this isn't good. So should I go ahead and send off a sample to get tested or is there a usual suspect for our 1.8t. Plus I'm a new member so what up to y'all.

Definitely not normal and not heard of anything like this. The question would be once you find out what the shavings are made of, is there a source to tell you where they came from. Maybe some others are smarter...

That sucks dude. Definitely send off a sample to Blackstone. They can tell you what components would produce the type of metal you are experiencing.
