Default Red box are street pads, I don't think there is any reason to bed them

I had red box on my B5 and my TT (never bedded) and never had a any problems.

I think you're supposed to bed race pads.

I think EGainer's right with bedding: even with my OEM pads they work better after bedding

Not the first complaint about them. Hawk HPS or EBC Green.

Default Brad...we installed them...and you need to bed in all pads you install

One thing though..he had cross drilled rotors installed at the same time....that did impact the deterioration of the pads. I still hate Mintex Red box pads.

Default I guess I'm wrong, but I've never bedded my pads and never had a problem

Looks like the process was way to aggressive for those pads. Looks like they just disintegrated under the heat of the bedding process.

I had Zimmerman cross-drilled on my B5 with redbox, never had a problem. Red-box on my TT same as above. EBC greens on my B6, same as above.

On future cars if I'm using street pads I will still not bed them. If I was running a more aggressive track or race setup I would.

I'm sure Mintex will replace those pads free of charge if you contact them.
