I have a 2002 3.0q, pwr steering is whining really bad only in the morning when its below 40 or so. I had my garage flush it during the summer but I think that they put the wrong fluid in it cuz it never did that before. Any suggestions, I read where you can suck out the res. etc. but I kinda want to completely flush it. Which tube do I disconnect to do the complete flush? Also which power steering fluid should I use, Pentosin, Mobil, or Audi?

switched their CHF cars to M1 ATF a long time ago. Since you might have a situation with plain PSF in your system, I'd flush the heck out of it and use M1 ATF. I flush by disconnecting the hose that goes off the rack into the reservior @ the reservior. Cap that nipple on the res with a piece of tin foil. Run that tube into a empty jug, use an extention of needed, even a piece of garden hose over it. Duct tape with mate any misfits.

Disconnect the sparkplugs/coil packs and have someone crank the engine while you refill the reservior with ATF and watch for the run-off hose to become clear. 2q should do a good job. You can reconnect the system and do it again or just drain the reservior and refill. With some skill and luck you can get the level perfect without waste. Let me know if you need more help.
