Default mom's 03 a4 quattro automatic in for service pls help

the car is at service and they can't figure out what's going on with it. The car seems to hold its revs at 3800 rpm when your pushing it and then it seems to move on after a slight hesitation. has anyone else experienced this. you can see the tack get caught up and you also can hear the engine hesitate a bit. any help would be appreciated. The service advisor said he will take the car home with him to see if it continues to happen because he said they can't replicate what im talking about but for me it happens all the time. once again thanks for your help.

Take them for a ride and show them...don't let them take it home.

just a guess but sounds like a stuck butterfly valve on the TB or the intake runner valve.
