Default More useful reliability research

Last November I started conducting what will be far more useful reliability research. Most importantly, instead of simply labelling cars good and bad I'll provide absolute numbers--times in the shop--so people can much more accurately decide whether a car's other advantages outweigh any disadvantage it might have in this area. Audi buyers do this all the time, but right now they have to just go with their gut.

I'm collecting data already on the new Jetta and Passat, and will start on the A3 soon, but have yet to start on any year of the A4. I need at least 25 of a model year, except for 2006 where I just need 12 to start. (I assume more will come as the model year progresses and more are sold.)

Current counts by model year for the A4:
2001: 8
2002: 9
2003: 13
2004: 2
2005: 1
2006: 4

With most cars I'm heavy on 2005s and 2006s. But I've noticed that with German cars most are 2001-2003. Because the warranty has just expired or is just about to?

www.truedelta.com
