Why isn't anybody concerned with diesel throwing out more particulate matter?

Default True for global warming, but if you get too much crap in the atmosphere it'll diffuse sunlight.

Seems even more simple than the concept of gasses at sea level rising into the upper atmosphere and changing under pressue heat.

I think people just don't care, cheap gas is cheap gas.

Default It's looking better

Rumors abound that the new Common Rails will be coming soon. I'm a huge diesel fan and the Jetta TDi was my alternate to the A4. Wanted AWD, though. If Audi had a diesel, I'd have bought it.

EPA doesn't like the particulate matter coming out, even though all other emissions are far less than gasoline engines. And the new CDI's are falling within EPA's range (check out new E-series MB).

Default AND...

diesel engines can be easily converted to also use vegetable oil, reducing our dependance on fossil fuels. A diesel/electric hybrid (like on trains) would be ideal.

Default Run it on cooking oil! VW sells kits for Diesel engines that are VW/Audi approved.

Just imagine pulling up to a restaurant an asking for their used cooking opil. CLUTCH!
