My dealer says they are selling '02's at invoice.

I heard the dealer say it, I was there with a friend that might want to buy. I guess I should go back with the Edmunds printout to make sure. By the way, this is at Cunningham in KC.

Frankly, last year's cars should be selling BELOW original dealer invoice, because they will be getting money back from AoA. Depending on how truthful the salesperson and/or dealer principals are, they may or may not be telling you the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth.
Oh and BTW, Edmunds and KBB aren't always right unfortunately. Especially with old numbers which are now subject to change without notice.

Audi has never done rebates on the A4s - just sub-venting.
My guess though is that the dealership may be trying to get the guys to come back, and lowballing them to do so. They know that no dealer is going to sell a car at cost without making something somewhere on the deal. If the guys had said they were going to buy the car that day, I'm sure the number would be different. In the car biz, it's called "putting them on the Be-Back bus."
Some dealers have realized that the '02 cars have some stuff people prefer over the '03 cars, so they price accordingly.

about a month ago. It seemed like a good deal to me. Some dealers had too many 02s and they wanted to get rid of them. (Not sure if that is still true). If you're ready to buy, I'd recommend calling or faxing a half-dozen fleet/internet managers, explaining you are absolutely ready to buy, and then getting a price. Don't be afraid to let them know other dealers are in the mix or the prices another dealer has given.

FYI: I jusst purchased a 02 A$ 1.8 5Q
last Sat. I paid Invoice plus $300; $130for bra and $170 for tint. I think I got a great deal, since the 02 has the alumin accents and all 4 heated seats.
Audi, probably has already given kickbacks to their dealers to move the 02's
