Default my first audi ('04 A4) - engine, coolant & oil questions

bought an used 3.0 quattro avant back in dec '07 and
1) i had to put coolant in it at least every 2 weeks. Is anyone else having this problem or just me?
2) had a oil change on jan 10 and the low oil light has came on.
3)check engine light has been on since i bought it (as is). take a couple of minute to turn over when cold. had stall out on me in the McDonald drive-thru and replaced the fuel pump and fiter but, still take a while to turn over.

Is this a lemon or can it be saved? help

Default have you lifted the car at all to do a simple visual check for leaks or anything?

for the oil, take the belly pan and check for fresh oil that leaked onto there. Check your oil level - it could be as simple as the wrong sized bolt and washer not having a proper seal - dealers and quick lube places are both known for this.

As for the CEL, get the codes read - whether it be the dealer, Autozone, or a local guy with a VAG-COM, get it read. Go on your local forum to see if anyone near you has one - if you were in SE MI, I'd meet up with ya to get a reading.

Lastly, do multiple searches for your issues - chances are you'll find a lead of sorts.

no, i didn't(stupid me) but i am in Detroit and i took the avant to Fred Lavery dealership for the 55k checkup and to check for coolant leaks(this was when they changed the fuel pump). they claim to have found nothing. i haven't took it back there yet because i trying to re-up my loot and after giving them a change to the problem, why take it back there.

really like your help if you are in SE MI

thanx.

Default sure thing - if you fancy a drive over to A2, I'll read the codes for you no problem

shoot me an email - jffahn@gmail.com

I'm basically free whenever, loosely speaking.

Also, if your warranty's up, there's a shop in Waterford, gmwwaterford.com - I'd pit that guy Stefan against any other shop in the US.
