infiniti was ranked no.2 or 3 in reliablity with acura right up there as well...

BMW ranks the highest among German auto cars in reliability, but less than most of the Japanese. If you find a trusted shop that knows what they are doing, you won't pay more on the individual repairs plus there should be many fewer repairs. Example, when replacing both rotors and pads for my BMW 5 it cost me only $180. That included two brand new oem rotors and a set of pads. Ordered the parts from bav auto.
