Default My Homelink is dead??

Well, I installed my garage door opener a couple of days ago and I still have to use the remote that came with it. None of the procedures in my car manual work. I tried erasing all the previous codes by holding one and three and nothing ever happens. Also tried holding all three buttons. Holding one of the buttons to program it doesn't work. LED is supposed to blink slowly as per the manual but never does. Come to think of it, that I have never seen that LED blink once. Could it be dead?

Default A lot of newer garage door openers use a constantly adjustable code that changes each time

you use it. Homelink can not work with these. Atleast that has been my experience in two Audis and one Merc. They work fine on older remotes, just not new ones.

Homelink does work with rolling code openers...but requires an extra programming step.

Default "Atleast that has been my experience ". I haven't even bothered trying it on my B6,

just assumed it wouldn't work either. Maybe they figured out a new trick to get them to work. I'll try it tonight.

Default No, I think my Homelink is just busted

This doesn't even concern the opener. The manual says to program a button you hold it pressed until it blinks slowly and then take the remote to the front of the car and press it. That has nothing to do with the opener at that point. Also, erasing previous codes has nothing to do with the opener and that doesn't work either.

Default That's bullcrap. I have two rolling code openers (Genie Intellicode) and works fine

I'm sure you have a rolling code openers so make sure you follow the extra steps for Rolling code. They are specific to your opener so you will need to know how to add a controller to your opener after you program your homelink<ul><li><a href="http://www.homelink.com/program/hlmanual.pdf">Homelink programming instructions</a></li></ul>
