A lot of people leave ice & snow on their cars to freeze + remelt over and over. MIL does...
It's bad for paint and trim, plus how the heck do you get your wipers free after thay are embedded in a chunk of ice? She also waits until the plow slush is a solid curb of ice to clear it and move the A6. Some people are duhh.

problem solved
got off my lazy *** tonight and cleaned the garage so I can get both cars in.
it's even heated. Should be nice this winter. Well, except that I work nights and she'll sit out 4 nights a week all winter
on the bright side I got to test the TCS today, that's.... interesting
