My turbo starts out with a whistle then kinda sounds like its winding or something is this correct?

Default Same here but my whistle sounds every time i step on the gas!
Hey- i have a 99 audi and my turbo whistle's too-
Somtimes it almost sound like a drilling sound-My turbo still works fine and the boost is ok i guess (i know very lil about cars)

i brought it to audi and they suspect that its my "turbo impellar" and said that i need to replace the whole turbo or else it might just stop working one day and i will have zero horsepower. I just hope your problem is a loose something or something minor though.

that's the sound all turbo car's make...some are louder than others...

Default If it's a loud whistle noise on cold starts, and sounds like a jet engine, you could have problems..
bent turbine blades on the turbo would be one.
