Default My weekend evap system repair...

Some of you may be aware, from some of my recent <a href="https://forums.audiworld.com/a4gen2/msgs/1108224.phtml">postings</a> here, of my recently discovered evap hose issue and it causing a CEL, an evap system leak code and an inability to fill my car with gas in under 20 minutes.

I followed the advise of a few people (QuattroFan02, Diagnosticator1, MikTip...) and DIYed the repair.

melted portion of evap hose:

melted portion of evap hose severed and exiled:

<img src="http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a190/snostarr/IMG00683.jpg">

sexy new 4.5" replacement tubing with an interior diameter about the same size as the plastic evap hose exterior diameter:
<img src="http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a190/snostarr/IMG00684.jpg">

two hose clamps and two thin wall brass tubing inserts to be placed into each severed end of the evap hose tubing for a little assurance against tube collapse:
<img src="http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a190/snostarr/IMG00685.jpg">

brass tubing in place with new hose worked into position:

wrapped in heat shielding tape and clamped:

I immediately drove to a gas station for a fill up, hoping the repair fixed my fueling issues... It did. I can now fill my tank normally without the pump shutting off every 7 seconds. Total repair cost was &lt; $6 + about 45 minutes of my time.

The CEL is still on but I'm guessing/hoping it will clear itself in the next couple of days.

Thanks again AW

Not bad, do you have access to a Vag tool so you can clear the code?

Default there's a local shop I could go to (Achtuning) but their business hours conflict with my work hours.

Apparently Autozone can clear codes?

If all else fails, I could probably ask on my local forum.
