Hello, I want to install a blow-off valve for my '02 Audi 1.8t Quattro. Only thing is, everybodt tells me that the Blitz, GReddy and others will pull a CHECK ENGINE LIGHT code -- what brand of blow-off valve will not pull a CEL code and still give me good, dependable performance and that all addicting ppppssssssshhhhh sound everytime I shift! HELP!
Thanks,
Mike

The only thing you need is the adaptor flange, which has to be welded on. Complete kits are at:

not to mention that they will turn your rear bumber black from the unused fuel being burned in your exhaust system. Notice that no one around has a blow-off valve for their Audi. I'm sure you will here this from others here on Audiworld as well.

scared to try it. They hear somethign that someone who sounds smart says, and back off the topic immediately. It's really not that bad...
Thats one of the major differences between AW and another forum like honda-tech...here people swear by what some guy in another country tells them...and spreads that (sometimes)disinformation...
on honda-tech, for example, people go and try it on their own...<ul><li><a href="https://forums.audiworld.com/s4/msgs/971091.phtml">Some info for ya</a></li></ul>

BOVs are called "punk valves". Obviously this is used in conjunction with a car that is not meant to have these sounds;-)
Personally I am ambivelant. If it would actually do something for performance, I might be interested, but I would actually prefer something that DIDN"T make noise. Intake roar and exhaust growl are my personal favs.

my car has been vagged and no boost loss and it seems to have my turbo spooling up quicker and not to mention the sounds it makes when you release the throttle; it just goes to show you cant always beloieve what you readl best method of doing things is trying it yourself; no check engine lights either, just make sure to have the spring tighten so the valve stays closed at idle; get the adapted flange from www.vwturbo.com if your getting hks or greddy type s
