Default Need some advice.....

First, I'd like to say that this forum has a wealth of info, thanks everyone!

My dilemma right now is I can't decide whether to purchase a new '03 1.8t, 5spd, quattro or a used '01 s4. Here are the details of both cars:

*New 2003 1.8t, dolphin grey, black int, 5spd, quattro, prem, sport, cold, and xenons, $30,000.00

*Used 2001 s4, 30k miles, black ext, black w/silver int, 6spd, every option except nav, $31,000.00

Here are some things that I am taking in consideration:

insurance
cost
resale value
performance(obviously)
styling
and some other factors

I would appreciate any feedback from you guys.

thanks

jk

Default Get the 03...your talking about a 2 year difference...b5 chassis is beautiful, but in 1 year your

s4 will look dated...just look at the previous style m3...still a beautiful car, but when you line it up next to the new m3, it looks old...

Default I'd worry about the former S4 owner's driving style but, heck, it still has 20K miles of warranty.

Is it by chance a dealer certified used car?

Default S4 resale will be strong, especially for 6 speed. Go with it and get a 1.8T later on

when the 6 speed and 190HP motor is in it. or by that time you might be able to swing more $$ for a new S4.

Default The jury is not out on the looks of the new S4 though. Too mild for my tastes for the

high performance A4 from Audi.

Default That maybe true, but in 3 years enthusiasts won't have much of a choice...

no one's going to buy a 4-5 year old car because they like the looks of it better...it's not like Audi is gonna say "oops you guys don't like it, lemme change it back real quick"...sooner or later everyone's just gonna have to accept it...or change out for something else. But they're most likely NOT going to buy a 2001 in the year 2005
