Default need some legal advice on theft....

my Xenon headlights on my old Maxima were stolen from a parking complex in a NJ Mall. i filed a report with both the mall Security & local Police. My insurance deductible is $1k and the cost of replacement is also $1k

Now would i be able to file some kinda claim against the mall & get some $ back?

Default Probably not.

Most malls have signs throughout that they are not responsible for theft. I woudl say you are grasping at straws. Lower your deductible.

Sorry man, looks like you're gonna have to suck that one up. That really sux. I lowered my deductible to $250, didn't make that big a difference.

Default Had some PIAA fogs stolen in Bridgewater mall

a few years back. After talking to the rent-a-cops and the real cop who took the report, they said not much could be done.

After hearing my story, a friend mounted some razor blades behind the fog light mounts. One day after shopping at another mall, he saw blood on the ground. The only problem I saw was that the thief may end up bashing your windows in but it seems it's the only way to stop em nowadays (cops are useless for petty theft and it's the security guards' friends doing the theft!)

Odds are not good. On the other hand, it can't hurt to ask - malls are sensitive to their images.

Default Garden State Paza...

i've been going there for years with no problems.
Until 2 months ago when it happened. Then ppl tell me the horror stories about that mall.

lately i've seen some TL's & Maximas missing their Xenons, now i know how they feel.

Default Lowering the deductible will probably cost more in the long run (more)

Last time I looked into lowering my deductible from $1k to $500, it would cost me $300 more/year. So, for every two years I go without making a claim, I save $100. Since I've never made a claim in 11 years of paying insurance, I've done well. (where's some wood)

Default I understand that, however...

Since this was a random act of theft, what are the odds that his deductible will not come into play again? That is why it's called INSURANCE. Paying less for insurance is never a benefit unless you never file a claim.
