like my city is mostly highways and i goin like 110 km an hr and there alot of slow pokes on the highway and they all pass me in the slower lane..also raced a friend b4 on a long highway strip..we were kind of over doin it...lucky it was straight and long and at night time...i was goin 200-210(pretty much almost 130 mph and i wasn't even passed him and he told me his speedo was reading about 180 km(about 110-115mph)...ever since that we never race again unless on a track cuz both of us got busted a while back and got our lisences suspended for 4 months...learned our lessons...but has neone experienced or notice anything about our speedo not accurate reading?

that would only be a 3.25 mph difference at 130 MPH.... maybe have it checked, or borrow someones portable nav.
BTW, my friends 1.8t is also about 2.5% slow, so I wonder if they build that safety percentage into the cars computer. ???

They talked about different types of cars, and the variance in accuracy of speedos. The difference has to do with the slight changes in tire diameter to compensate for wear, etc.
The conclusions were that the sports cars and more expensive cars that were tested had a bigger exaggeration of speed. The DOT allows there to be a certain amount of difference between actual and calculated speed.
