New 3.0 Questions

Just got a dolphin/ebony 3.0 with sport and premium packages yesterday. A couple of quick questions if I may:
1. I did not opt for satellite radio. Have any of you gotten an aftermarket XM system? What all needs to be installed? Also, is the fin only on the car for the OEM XM installation, as I don't have a fin on the roof?
2. I'm in LA and have found the sport suspension surprisingly hard, giving me a bit rougher ride than I had expected, especially on lousy streets. Is this normal and would it be a mistake to tweak the suspension for more of a touring ride (or even possible)?
Otherwise, loving the car thus far. It's been a dream come true!
Thanks for your input!

if your pre-wired for sat radio, you could just purchase the sat radio tuner for $300-350 and get it installed. i am not exactly sure if you can use the shark fin sat radio antenna for aftermarket units. if you are considering aftermarket, the Roady 2 is nice, very cheap and its working great for me. i have 5 diff xm radios
. if you don't have dark tint, you can even place the roady antenna inside on the rear dash.
good luck.

You can use the antenna for either XM or Sirius, but you will have to change the connector ends and add an extension cable. Also, the Audi has the older style twin lead antenna connector, the new Roady, Roady2, and newer SkyFi will not readily work. The older aftermarket tuners for a brand specific deck will work as well, but you'll have do a little re-engineering.
I posted a thread at the end of last week for dan with several questions about the A4 antenna and current XM antenna leads. I'm working on a fix/patch to allow the stock sharkfin to adapt to a mounted Roady2...

You would have to go with an aftermarket FM modulated or blitzsafe adapter to get Sat radio in your car.
Non-BOSE FWD cars come with Concert II head unit and no Sat pre-wiring
Non-BOSE Quattro cars have Symphony II with Sat pre-wiring
BOSE FWD & Quattro have Symphony II with pre-wiring
Only the non-bose FWD looses out.
