Default I agree. BMW is the German "Infiniti" (read cheap) when it comes to interior materials

BMW now also feels that buttons are not needed. Instead (starting with the 5-series) the new BMW interiors are a display of plain cheap looking plastic panels.

Cost cutting has been prioritized at BMW. I've seen the new 3-series in the flesh (inside and out). The exterior is very nice, but the interior (with the exception of the door panels) has been downgraded. The new 3-series interior is not as plain and boring as the 5-series but the interior is closer to Acura quality than it is to Audi quality.

I guess BMW figured that Infiniti is selling tons of cars with cheap interiors why can't we (BMW). The only problem is that the BMWs cost thousand of dollars more. When you spend thousands more for a car you expect everything to be better. There are also some BMW engines that are seriously under-powered. The same also applies to some Audi engines. I understand that these cars are not drag racers but an 184hp, $50,000 525i seems like a rip-off to me.

Default Re: looks good to me.

I like it too. In the flesh the car even looks more aggresive. I'll probably get one (feb/06).

Default At a test group. November 03, Seacacus NJ.

The pic is a PhotoChop. But that is how the car will look. The only major difference between the car pictured and the car I saw was that the car I saw had a 6-series style grill (thick Chrome band on top). What stands out to me is that the car pictured has the same exact 45degree seem-line between the bumper and fender. What also is spot-on is the rear end. I specifically remember the trunk lid having a "built in rear" spoiler and the indentation of the trunk from the rear bumper is also spot-on.
