Welcome. What's your exact model and year? Pics are welcome.
Btw:
1. We feel your excitement and are always as enthusiastic in seeing a new Audi owner in discovering their vehicle. However, there are a lot of playful people here, so just pardon them or play along.
2. Posting in ALL CAPS is a sure way to attract attention...in a bad way.
3. Before you post a question, search the forum archives (STFA) first or the majority won't be kind to you especially since it's a waste of bandwidth space and will be confusing if others who search the archives will find multiple postings of what could have been the same thread. But I'm sure we're all guilty of this, but let this be your last warning. Wa ha ha (cue: thunder and lightning).
4. To answer your question:
B6 = Audi Platform
8E = Audi Chassis
A simple explanation is to think of the Platform as the body or housing which is the body style, while the Chasis is the underpinning or the frame in which the body is resting on.
So previous models that came out in 2002-2005 had a B6 body resting on an 8E chassis. While the current models (with a uni-grille) issued later in 2005 are known as B7 + 8E.
Knowing your body style is helpful in posting in the correct forum. Or prepare to be flamed...

Good luck.
