New B6 owner
Greetings. Haven't been on audiworld in several years. previously owned a B5 with apr stage one and nothing else. Just purchased a 2003 Avant 1.8T manual. an ultrasport avant is pretty much the holy grail for me, but they are needles in haystacks, expecially living in texas.
I had to go to oregon for this one. 81k miles, one owner with verified service records. timing belt performed at 62k. runs and drives great but the interior has some minor stuff to work on like glove box hinges.
trying to decide/plan out my mods. I want a chip almost immediately, and i think eventually i will want to do the TT injectors. JHM shifter linkage is needed soon. it's pretty vague right now.
I had an idea last night about the ultra sport lower bumper. I don't have color keyed side skirts or lowers. I don't want to go through the expense of having them painted since i think this rarely turns out looking great.
what do you all think of getting a USP lower and using plasti dip to make the lowers all match? or maybe even the whole front and rear bumper to give it more of an allroad look? I'm not in to super low cars. the most i may want to do is put bilstein sports on factory springs.

Same here! Used to own a B5 Avant 1.9 TDI for 7 yrs when we were living in Germany. Moved to the US and after almost 3 yrs with an aweful Kia minivan are now back to the Audiworld with our B6 Avant 1.8T quattro.
I do not intend to change anything but there are some annoyances coming along with such an old car. As you say there's some broken hinges (armrest, rear ashtray, warning triangle latch) and I'm looking into finding replacements for those parts. Also it seems that my spare tire is a different size than the other 4. I wonder if its wheel is the stock model though...
Cheers
