you guys will be sharing this forum with that car.
Its the equivalent of the 99.5 makeover for the b5 or the slightly updated A6 circa 2002.
VW people got a b5.5 passat... this is your b6.5

cycle changes on the 99.5 A4.
My other reason is that Suppliers are already quoting business on the B8 and that usually doesn't happen until about a year is left of the development of the previous generation of vehicles. My guess is that the B8 will be a 2008/2009 release.

if its 8F0 then its a b7.
I dont think that 2001 to 2005 is a typical audi production period.
C5 went from late 97 iirc to 2004 (current)
D2 went from some time in 94 to 2003.
B5 went from 11/94 to mid 2001, or just shy of 6 years. With a facelift in feb of 99.
By that record it seems too soon for this to be a b7, and this would be very good timing for a facelift of the b6. However in the past B platforms there have been short generations too, B3/B4 typ 80 and 90 cars.
new A6 parts are 4F0 and new A8 parts are 4E0, I think this would be the 8F0 given that 8G0 is the old cabriolet based on the b3/4 platform.
IT could be like the B3/B4 changeover, which was almost nothing, just some different engines and a new hood/bumpers.... B3 begain in 1988 and about 1992/3 the b4 began production with essentially the same car just slightly different body parts and a hair different suspension. I thought audi had done away with such minor generational changes but I guess it is possible. The 893 or 895 part numbers then went on to 8A0 with the B4 platform.

I just spoke to my friend who is a part of the group that is quoting the HVAC control and he said the B8 is slated to be a 2008 program.
