My 2004 A4 sat for a week during the cornavirus and the battery died completely. Not sure why that happened. Couldn’t unlock the car with my remote so I am see my key. Although I got nothing when I turned the key the flashers started going very quickly. Once I jump started the car the flashers continues along with an awful piercing siren from the trunk. Manual said nothing. It stopped on its own but when I put it into reverse the sound and flashers came back. I eventually got to this thread. I used my key to lock and unlock the car and problem solved. Thank you.
