audi has just 40 more. imagine that with a turbo!!?? all i can say is.. good job toyota!

Default sweet, new celica 1.8L has 180hp and 130lbs ft - 100hp/Liter is damn good

1.8-liter DOHC 16-valve VVTL-i
4-cylinder
180 hp @ 7,600 rpm;
130 lb.-ft. @ 6,800 rpm

and a 6speed manual

Default yeah, the celica GTS engine is 1.8 and makes 180.....it's the toyota version of VTEC

it's called v-VTI I believe

That's probably a very high compression engine, which wouldn't react well to turbocharging.

they use VVTLI now, its variable valve timing and lift with intelligence
