Default New (maybe stupid) question

I have a 2004 1.8T with Tip. I don't remember the following situation happening last summer. When I've been driving for awhile in the heat (80s and up now) and sit stopped somewhere; a light, parking lot, etc. there is a sort of moaning/whistling kind of sound that seems as though it's coming from the right rear area. I'm guessing something to do with fuel or fuel tank. I release pressure at the fuel cap just to diagnose and no change. Has anyone else expeienced this? Fuel pump issue? Doesn't seem to affect performance, fuel usage or anything.

Thanks!

there have been soo many fuel pump stories that anything coming from the rear sounds like its a fuel pump problem.
You mentioned you have a 2004, which means you must very well be under warranty.
Just for your satisfaction why not take it to the dealer and have it checked out, also sit with the service rep. so that you can make him hear the noise. Else they wont be able to detect it by themselves.
