New paint care?

New paint care?
How are you new A4 owners caring for your factory paint job? I have read and have been told varying methods for caring for a new factory coat.
From what I've learned, essentially there is a period of "curing" that takes place. During this period it is imperative to keep the car shaded and dry. Only rinse what you have to and never use any detergents, polishes, or waxes for the first year.
Can anyone corroborate these findings? Or perhaps supply direction to more accurate resources? A year sounds like an awful long time before I can give the baby her bath. Many of the car care sites on the web don't directly address the needs of a brand new coat of paint.
Your thoughts?

Between the time they paint your car and then ship it to you and you pick it up...
I'd say you don't have anything to worry about. Especially considering that it's baked on. Now if you just picked your car up from the body shop....that's a WHOLE different story.
