He used Model Masters R/C car transparent tint spray (2 coats). Then let them completely dry. Then wet sanded with a very very fine sand paper (also from the hobby store). Finally he used 1-2 coats of Model Masters high gloss. They came out looking great. Total cost of these parts is like $15.
