New (soon to be) owner of a B6... US to Can Conversion Q's
Just bought an '04 A4 3.0 Quattro, with the sport, Premium, and cold weather packages. I Can't wait to pick it up in a few weeks...
I don't have the car yet, neither do I have the owners manual. So if the answers are in there...
Anyway, as a Canadian buying a US car, I was wondering if there is any way to change the DIS to read in Km & L vs MPG and Miles, and the Climate controls to Celcius instead of Farenheight without buying any parts (Coding? Vag-Com?). I plan to pickup the stuff I need for using Vag-Com so I can turn on the DRL's But I'm an admitted Newbie at all this german engineering business. I've used the search function, but not being totally familiar with the lingo I may have missed something so if it's already here I apologize. Either way, any help, or suggestions would be much appreciated.

Yes you can change all the above but you need a VAG COM. You may be able to find someone...
In your area with a VAG COM that can do it for you or a small independent garage that as the equipment (usually a VAG COM) or the dealer.
It takes less than 15 minutes to do it.

The only thing you can change w/out the VAG is the F to C temp display
If you hold the driver's side plus (temperature increase) and the driver's side auto button for two seconds, the temp on the climate control and the temp in the DIS will read in celcius.
The rest, you'll need to VAG. You can set the car for the Canadian region which will change your fuel efficiency readout to L/100Km and should turn on your fog lights as your DRLs. KMh is already shown on the speedometer.
