Newby loooking for 2003 A4 3.0 Sports Edition Mods
Apologies for being new…
Ive been looking for performance mods for my 2003 A4 3.0 Sports Edition for a while now and cant seem to find any. Im new to this, so may just not know what Im looking for. Is there anyone out there with this car that can give me the short (long) list of whats available and where to find it?
Have been reading these posts for a while (really I have!), and havent seed anything other than the Miltech exhaust (which I am definitely going for) and various rims.
Supercharger/Turbo?
Chips?
Short Shifter?
Any other goodies?
Thanks
LJ

there's all kinds of stuff
there are a couple chips out there, depends on how much you wanna spend. no forced induction yet, and as far as short shifters its the same as any 02 up 6sd. i have the neuspeed install was easy and they're on sale everywhere for 130. suspension, brakes, and other chasis based upgrades are widely available. respek

Well, I've got suspension mods, and Supersprint exhaust
And I've got a 2nd hand Wetterauer chip coming my way (hopefully). Some other options for chips include PowerChip, Neuspeed and Upsolute. There are other things as rooster3.0 said, including intake (Stratmosphere has one, and I may somebday mess with putting in a BMC CDA). PES is supposedly putting the final touches on a SC kit, which a few guys here have seen the dyno runs for.

re: chip...
my advice is to stay away from a chip for your 3.0 (i also drive a 3.0 sport). Aside from the fact that power gains are going to be fairly negligible (please don't argue this, if there are gains they're definitely not a lot), it seems that everyone who has a chip is constantly sweating warranty issues, and rightfully so considering so many Audi dealers are intolerant of such modifications. For 1.8T the power gain is probably worth that aggravation and worry, but for a 3.0 I bet you'd find the cost and hassle to be a waste... my $.02

It's all a matter of perspective...
Indeed, the gain from a chip on the NA 3.0 is less than on the 1.8T, but I myself consider 15hp and similar amount of gain in torque a noticeable improvement; call me crazy, but I felt a gain after putting in my exhaust, and we all know that's only a handful horses. As to warranty worries, that's fair, but mine's an '02, and I'll be running out of warranty in slightly less than a year at the current rate I'm putting on mileage anyway. I do appreciate your concerns though
