Default Next stupid question of the day: Can you E-brake turn/slide the rear around with quattro?

I remember I used to go find a parking lot in my Jetta in the rain and drive fast, slam on the brakes while turning, and pull the E-brake and the car would snap right around but something tells me it wouldn't work with AWD. NOt that I've tried it. But I was just wondering.

So the Torsen diff is ok with you locking the rear and the front still turning?

Default OK, here is a real simple answer

Braking has nothing to do with AWD. AWD is for accelerating. Physics dictate that if you lock the rear tires and turn the steering wheel, the rear end will slide out. Quattro does not care either way. If you are using the e-brake, then you are not applying power to the wheels, hence why AWD does not matter.

Default I don't think it will kill the car or effect any of the systems.

I just do it in winter to slid around my driveway, It is just the rear wheels locking up.
