Already available in Europe will be sold in the US sometime next year.
I test drove Mazda 6s sedan couple weeks ago: great handling comparable with BMW, nice interior with more rear seat room, responsive V6 with precise short shifting gearbox.
Loaded 3.0 V6 220 hp wagon for just about $ 25K - much better value than A4 for anybody who does not need AWD.

I have seen and driven the Euro Mazda6
and while it is not an Audi, it is actually
pretty close. The fit and finish is excellent,
hopefully the US model will be similar.
About $10K less than a comparable 3.0 Avant,
minus the Quattro, people should at least
test drive it to compare. In the worst case,
people will appreciate their Audi more.
Even if you spend $2,000 on suspension/tires
you come out a lot cheaper.
One big drawback is that resale value on Mazda
is less than Audi.
