I think the jury is still out on that.

From what I read on AZ and here, the DSMIC worked as well or better than the FMICs that were introduced in 2005 and earlier. The newer FMICs seem to be better (AWE, ER, Racetec) than the older FMICs, but no one did any direct comparisons to the DSMIC setup. Also I think that APR mentioned that it's not possible to use the DSMIC with their S3+ BT setup (please don't quote me on this, I may be wrong) and a FMIC have to be used. Might want to check other BT setups for IC requirements.
