Default Normal sound with a FMIC?

Just went out to the bank and the first thing I noticed (since I had all windows down) was the pronounced boost sound. It's not as sharp as a whistle noise once I hit boost but almost like air sucking in noise.

No power loss, all of it is there...so thinking not a boost leak? Just wondering if it's normal to hear the boost sound more pronounced with a FMIC...

It's the first time I've heard it since installing it on Friday but this is the first time I've driven with all windows down.

Hmmm. What other symptoms would there be? I'd assume power loss but not feeling that...

Default Yeah, it's like that sound. I'll have to try with the windows up and see if I can hear it more

than usual.

Default do you have a boost gauge?

I had a slipped silicone coupler once and at exactly 10psi, I could hear air rushing under the hood. I did a boost leak test and found exactly where the coupler was slipping off the hose in 5 minutes.
Perhaps you can figure out a what psi you hear the sound and go from there.

Default No boost gauge :(

It's when boost hits the hardest, after 3,000 RPMs. As boost is building (mid to high 2000 rpms), slight sound as before I put on the FMIC.

Default do you have VAG Com?

you could log requested and actual boost and plot a graph so you could see if your actual boost falls way below requested, which could mean a boost leak.
