Default Note to self: Your Audi is lowered so when you see a steep speed bump, take it an angle."

So the family and I were in NJ for a few days visiting my parents for X-MAS and as I am apt to do when I am back in my home town I decided to cruise around town and visit some of my old hang outs. One place I drove by was my H.S. and I decided to drive into the large student parking lot. Well let's just say that there is now a four or five inch tall speed bump at the enterance/exit to the lot and idiot me took it straight on. My front bumper got over it fine but when my front wheels came down I bottomed out harder than I have ever bottomed out before. I slapped myself for being such an idiot, got out of the car and looked underneath to see if I had caused any serious damage and then turned around to go home. And yes when I went back over the speed bump I took it at 30 degree angle at 5 mph (maybe even slower). Not bottoming out this time.... whew. Lesson learned.

Default True...but I am running Eibach springs and the car isn't that low. 25 3/8" all around.

Just a 1/8" to 1/4" lower than the stock '02 sport suspension.

Default Yeah I always take bumps at an angle and very slow if I can help it ...

I'm not that low though... only a few bumps around places I go that would cause serious problems for me otherwise.

Default I was practicing crawling over speedbumps for about 5 years prior to getting my A4.

I knew that one day I would drive a lowered car so I figured I might as well behave like I was already driving it.

Can you imagine how many people I pissed off while taking speedbumps at 2mph in this:

As a result though, I've scraped (very slightly) the bottom of my car only once since lowering it back in May, 2006 :-)

Default I managed to remove....

<center><img src="http://www.tirerack.com/images/suspension/search_susp/large/HS22823.jpg"></center><p>
the grease fittings on my front H-Sport anti-sway bar clamps, and punch two little holes thru my new belly pan, on a rather unusually tall speed bump....

Since then, I've installed flush mount grease fittings, repaired belly pan, and take speed bumps much more slowly! ;O)

Default The way I come into my school has 7 speed bumps before I can get to where I park..

all are easily 5 feet wide and over 6 inches wide..I'll take a pic when I get back to school. They are like frigging ramps that require me to crawl over at speeds less than idle. And no one could give a **** b/c out of approx. 110 drivers in my senior class, I am one of 10 cars in our grade. Everyone else drives an SUV and a few drive pickups so when I crawl over the speedbumps at 2mph everyone honks, even the teachers. Then there was the one morning one teacher who was in a rush and wasn't going to slow down in time to not hit my car forced me over the speedbump at like 20mph..needless to say my teacher had an interesting reaction to when I walk in 20 minutes late with grease on my hands explaining that I had to bolt my rear sway bar back on. Then I had to explain to her what a sway bar was.

I simply ignore the honking. After all, it's your car, not theirs.

Default I ignore the honking too. I jsut worry about someone's Tahoe slamming into from behind

but then again my back bumper is so f-ed up i dont think anyone would notice if I had a huge Chevy logo in the bumper too

That makes it easier for you to upgrade to an S4 bumper.
