Default Noticable loss of power and gas milage has decreased...

I took my 2002 A4 in to get the emergency brake cables replaced. It ended up it took about two weeks. Now that I have the car back I've noticed a reduction in power and gas milage (power - feels sluggish) (gas milage - fillup before would show 415 miles to go / now only shows 360)

What could have changed? What perhaps should be done to get the power back?

I have two guesses :

One : While sitting for so long the car reprogrammed it self to and now it's in "lame mode"
Two : The airfilter needs cleaning/replacing

?????

Since he was just having brake work done, that would be my guess.
