and then 5w-30 or 5w-40 what is the difference there?
I live in Northern New Jersey, gets really hot and gets really cold here.
My first oil change I put in Mobil 1 0w-30 Tri-Sythetic (not the new supersyn)
I also drive my car A LOT!! I am going for my 20K service next weekend, only had car since February. Should I be using a different oil grade? What would any of you recomend 0w-30/40 or 5w-30/40?
Thanks

European standards (meets ACEA A1/B1 standards). At least that's what I discovered after putting the Mobile SuperSyn 0W-30 in my car last month. :-(

offers more protection than 30 at high temps assuming it isn't too thick for your engine. I think it's good for 1.8T's.
I like 10w or 5w 40 weight for our Jetta 2.slo b/c it's a bit of an oil eater
probably get a little better gas milage with 30 though
