Don't mean to be flip, but isn't this why I have an alternator??

Dunno...the dealer replaced it under warranty. So probably the OEM battery.

Default I went to college in north dakota, this is downright tropical.

I had a nissan altima in ND, with an optima battery and no block heater she'd start down to -35 or -40F with no problems.

Default Yes and no.

If your battery is depleted (giving you the beeps), unless you drive for many hours, your alternator just won't bring it up to full charge.

Default and if the battery is going bad it won't hold a charge like it did new...

so if you charge it and you continue to get the beeps, then maybe you need a new battery?
