Default To synthetic??

If yes, then wait until 7500/10,000 miles for that. But make no mistake; change the factory oil & filter before 10,000 with the same factory oil from your dealer. Preferably at 1K, then around 2500K & 5K,.... this will help keep it cleaner during break in. Use your own descretion. It isn't necessary to change it that much. But definitely change it.
You can tell when the car is getting closer to being broken in by keeping track of the gas mileage you are getting. It will increase as the car becomes more settled in (sealed,...).

There is alot of discussion about this "waiting" to change the factory oil to synthetic. But synthetics are very different from the dino-oil w/ all the additives for the break in. Also, all engines have different break in periods and each will break in according to how it is driven during this. From personal experience, I think it is a valid point and it won't hurt to wait. Just drive a lot if you are in a hurry.
