hello, the oil temperature normally sits at about 200 in my 2001 1.8T. however, the last few days i have noticed that the temp has gone up as high as 300, but it never stays there that long, maybe a minute or two. the needle on the gauge would oscillate between 225 to 300 in a span of 30 to 90 seconds. i can't imagine that is the real oil temperature changing that quickly. anyone know what is up with this? thanks in advance.

bad temp gauge,or bad oil temp sender, or some wiring is getting frailed
