ok, OT. Seriously, who knows anything about home networking?
i have Broadband.
I have two VAIO Laptops (new).
I have one VAIO desktop (NICE ONE) hooked to TV.
I have a program called ACT2005 that I need both laptops to be able to enter information equally on the same database.
I have main broadband going to the desktop. I have Linksys getting me the broadband wireless to the two laptops around the house.
I guess I need to set up a home networking system, load the ACT2005 program on the desktop so that the two laptops can equally access the database, no?
SO WHAT DO I DO? any good resources for finding out how to do this?

set up a home network and use the synchronism tool in ACT
windows XP has a utility to help you with setting up your network. Did you quit workin for the gubbament? Good luck with the new company.

is the linksys at the edge of your network?
if so, make sure all of your clients (2 laptops and 1 desktop) are on the same subnet (ie 192.168.0.X, 10.0.0.x, or whatever private subnet you like) and that if they (especially the desktop) have a firewall you set it up to allow incoming connections on whatever port(s) the ACT2005 program listens for connections.
this is all assuming the ACT2005 suite can act as a server to networked clients.

true. their installers/cust svc is awesome. plus the voice on fiber is so crystal clear now.
Video service is being released in the Fall and with that I would imagine current prices will go down.
