Default OK, so just got my car back with new A/C condenser, questions...

Here's the story: I installed a siren speaker for an airhorn in the front of my car in front of the condenser back in feb. 03. It broke loose recently and rubbed a hole in the condenser, such that my A/C failed and the unit needed to be replaced. Palisades Audi (W. Nyack, NY) did the job for a grand total of $850. The job's been done, the A/C works great, and though broke I am essentially happy.

Here's my dilemma. The A/C broke while my car was in for its 10K service at Fairfield Audi, in Fairfield, CT. It seems to me that while my car was in service, the techs dislodged the airhorn speaker accidentally, causing it to fall back on the condenser thus creating the whole problem. The A/C WORKED on my way to drop off the car at Fairfield, and DID NOT WORK the very second I picked it up from them (they had it running in the parking lot, blowing hot air). My question: is there anything I can do to get reimbursed? The speaker's jarring loose was not my fault, and it happened in the care of Fairfield Audi... What should I do? thanks for any advice.

Default By the way...

The reason I didn't have Fairfield Audi replace the condenser was so that I could get a second opinion (i.e. maybe have it replaced under warranty) somewhere else, and because I'm not sure how much I trust them anymore... During the service I heard them playing with the airhorn in the garage, which makes me lose a bit of faith...

Default Since the work is done and you've already paid, I'd say you're out of luck...

Had you brought all of this to the service manager's attention before going through with the repair, he might have worked with you. At this point, I doubt they'll play ball.
