Default Okay, need help again diagnosing a problem that just started a few days ago...

On a cold start, I noticed that my 02 1.8MTQ starts making a blowing noise under the hood for about 30 seconds, it almost sounds like a hair dryer. I can actually feel air blowing out under the passenger side lower grill. Like I said, it does this for about 30 seconds and stops and only on cold starts. I looked under the hood while it was doing this and I couldn't tell exactly, but it had to be pretty low in the engine bay on the front passenger side......an ideas from anybody? Also, I haven't noticed any decrease in power/acceleration, so not sure if this could be related to the turbo or not. Of course I don't even know where the turbo is .

Thanks,

Default Normal as in "it should be doing this" or normal as in "it's going out and needs replaced"?....

Sorry, I'm just being completely **** after spending $2K a month ago on repairs. I've never noticed it do this before, that's why I'm concerned.

Default no, it does that, what it does is it injects unmetered air ....

directly to the head to warm up the catalytic converter quicker so it becomes more efficient faster.

Default if the noise bothers you, you can do like I did and relocate the SAI pump...

Default you'll get a permanent CEL for insufficient flow...

and you won't pass emission testing.
