They should have a chipped car that you should be able to take for a spin. Also, I was told that you shouldn't install a chip until the car has at least 7-8 grand on it, you'll have to deal with a stock car for at least that long.

I've been working closely with a dealer at Prestige, and he doesn't know of any chipped ones here in Colorado that I could drive. Who told you the 7-8k miles before putting in the chip? I figured there should be a break-in period, but I was going to take my chances and put it in right away. But, if it's that big a deal, maybe that justifies me paying the extra money for the 3.0. I really hated the way the stock one drove.

Try the Colorado Audi Club (http://www.coloraudi.com/). I had a friend with an '00 that was chipped, but he just moved out of state. Anyway, he used to hang with that club, and I know he drove a chipped car before he did his (APR, fwiw). I know there are some chipped cars in that club, though maybe not any '02s.
Also, the guys at Autosport Werks (http://www.autosportwerks.com/) might have some info for you. I talked to the owner at the Denver GP, and he told me they are in the process of becoming an APR Authorized Dealer. He gave me a card for 10% off my first purchase, so if APR ever releases a chip...
